Warranty Information

Sioux Falls Fence Installation & Repair Warranty

At Great Plains Fence, we stand behind our work. When you invest in a new fence installation or fence repair in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area, you deserve clarity on what’s covered - and what’s not.

Our warranty is straightforward, transparent, and built around quality craftsmanship.

Our Workmanship Guarantee

We provide a limited workmanship warranty on all qualifying fence installations.

What this covers:

  • Installation defects

  • Structural issues caused by improper installation

  • Gate alignment issues resulting from installation error

  • Hardware failure due to workmanship

If there’s a problem tied directly to how we installed your fence, we will make it right.

Manufacturer Material Warranties

Most fencing materials (vinyl, aluminum, ornamental iron, composite, and certain wood products) include manufacturer warranties that vary by product and brand.

Material warranties typically cover:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Premature cracking, splitting, or structural failure

  • Coating or finish defects (where applicable)

Because these warranties are issued by the manufacturer, coverage terms and durations vary. We aren’t happy unless you are happy, which is why we will assist you in navigating any claim that is needed.

What Is Not Covered

Because we are built on transparency, it’s important our customers under stand what may not be covered by our warranty, such as:

  • Damage from severe weather, flooding, or natural disasters

  • Vehicle or equipment impact

  • Ground movement, soil shifting, or erosion

  • Improper alterations made by others

  • Lack of maintenance

  • Normal aging, weathering, or natural wood movement

Wood fencing is a natural product. Expansion, contraction, minor cracking, and color variation are normal characteristics — not defects.

Post Movement & Soil Conditions

Fence posts are installed to industry standards. However, soil conditions in the Sioux Falls region - including freeze-thaw cycles, expansive soils, and moisture variation - can impact long-term stability.

Movement caused by environmental conditions is not considered a workmanship defect.
