Chain Link Fences

Chain Link Fence Installation

Chain link is still the most affordable way to fully enclose a yard, pet run, ballfield, or commercial property - and the right install makes it last decades. We install galvanized and vinyl-coated chain link for homeowners and businesses across Sioux Falls and the surrounding communities, using our exclusive no-dig method - so installation is fast and easy on your yard.

Chain Link Styles We Install

Residential Chain Link

Standard galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link for backyards, pet runs, and side-yard enclosures. The most cost-effective way to fully fence a yard without sacrificing durability.

Commercial & Security

Heavier-gauge fabric, taller heights, and reinforced posts for businesses, storage yards, and industrial sites. Add barbed wire or privacy slats where security or screening is needed.

Athletic & Ballfield

Tall chain link backstops, sideline fencing, and tennis or pickleball court enclosures built to handle impact and crowd loads.

Vinyl-Coated (Black & Green)

Black or green vinyl-coated chain link that blends into landscaping and looks far cleaner than raw galvanized. The right choice for backyards where you want function without the silver shine.

The Great Plains Fence Difference

Why No-Dig Makes Chain Link Faster and Cleaner

Chain link fencing depends on tight line tension - if posts lean over time, the mesh sags. Our no-dig anchors keep terminal and line posts plumb without the cost, mess, and frost-heave problems of concrete piers. Faster install, lower disruption, and a fence that stays tight.

Tight Mesh Tension

Chain link looks sloppy the moment posts lean. Our anchor system locks line and corner posts plumb so the fabric stays tight and crisp for years.

Faster Long Runs

Chain link projects often cover long perimeters. No augering and no concrete cure time means we can knock out big residential and commercial runs in a fraction of the time.

No Yard Damage

Especially important when fencing in an existing yard for kids or pets - we install without tearing up the lawn or leaving piles of dirt and concrete behind.

Easy to Modify Later

Want to add a gate, move a corner, or extend a run? With no-dig anchors there is no concrete to break out - changes are quick and clean.

Chain Link Fence Questions

Galvanized chain link routinely lasts 20-25+ years, and vinyl-coated chain link can last even longer because the coating shields the steel from moisture. The biggest lifespan factor is post stability - posts that lean over time loosen the mesh tension. Our no-dig anchor system keeps line and corner posts plumb without the frost-heave problems of concrete piers.
Galvanized is the classic silver-finish chain link - strongest, cheapest, and the standard choice for commercial, athletic, and utility applications. Vinyl-coated chain link is dipped in PVC (usually black or green) so it blends into a yard or landscaping. Vinyl-coated also adds a layer of rust protection. For residential backyards, vinyl-coated black looks dramatically better.
For most dogs, 4 feet works. For larger breeds or jumpers, 5-6 feet is safer. The other factor is the bottom gap - if your dog digs, we can install tension wire at the base or set the fabric tighter to the ground. We will ask about your dogs at the estimate and spec the height and bottom treatment accordingly.
Yes. Privacy slats slide vertically into the mesh and block sightlines through the fence. They come in green, black, brown, and other colors. Slats are an inexpensive way to upgrade a chain link fence when full privacy fencing is not in the budget. Some customers also plant fast-growing screening shrubs along the fence line.
Chain link is typically the most affordable per-linear-foot option we install. Price depends on height, gauge (thicker fabric costs more), galvanized vs vinyl-coated, gate count, and lot conditions. For an accurate number, we will measure your property and give you an itemized written quote - free and with no obligation.
